In addition to its huge oil reserves, Saudi Arabia is ideally located to utilize solar energy. The country has a significant solar energy research program with cooperative activities with the U.S., Germany and France and several experimental "solar energy villages". I took this photo at a solar energy research center near Rhiyad.

How to build a Solar Panel from Solar Cells DIY Part 3 This is a video of how I build solar panels from single solar cells wired in series. This is a great DIY "do it yourself" Green power project. These solar panels are very powerful and following these steps you will be able to make them for 1/3 of what they sell them for in the stores. If your looking to get off the grid or just drop your electric bill this is perfect for you! Stay tuned for up and coming parts. I will seal these solar panels and test them in up and coming videos. We will even show how we install it on my own home and how I connect it to our grid tie inverter. I hope you enjoy the video. All the best, -Pete Mixcat.com mixcatcom Video Rating: 4 / 5
Wind of Change is a short documentary that shows how Fintry in rural Stirlingshire, Scotland, has embraced renewable energy for a more sustainable future for their village. In the age of peak oil, fuel poverty has become a serious issue throughout Scotland, where 30% of the population is not on mains gas and rely on expensive and carbon intensive heating systems. The village of Fintry is fighting back. After long negotiations, they became the first village in the UK to enter a joint-venture agreement with a wind farm developer that secured a wind turbine for the community. From the income stream the turbine generates, Fintry has given free insulation to more than half of all households in the village and is now embarking on new ambitious projects to eventually make the village carbon-neutral. The film portrays the village of Fintry as it carries out a number of new projects such as installation of micro-renewable heating systems, planting a community orchard and opening a woodland learning area for the local primary school.
